Following on from the previous Open day on Modelling held at the headquarters of Santé publique France, the Coordinated Action on Infectious Disease Modelling of ANRS-MIE organises a scientific day for researchers and public health professionals on the theme of "Mathematical models and vaccination". Through presentations by modellers, researchers in biological, medical or human sciences, and public health practitioners, we will discuss the various aspects of vaccine development, vaccine strategies and efficacy assessment for which mathematical modelling can provide original insights that complement biomedical approaches.
The workshop will be held on March 24th, 2025 (10:00-17:30), at the International Conference Centre of Sorbonne University in Paris, and online.
Registration is free, but mandatory (details below).
Thematic sessions
The workshop will open with introductory talks by Hervé Raoul (deputy director of ANRS-MIE), Eric Quéméneur (director of the France Vaccins programme) and Rodolphe Thiébaut (Bordeaux U.). An introductory lecture will be given by Yves Lévy (Vaccine Research Institute, Henri Mondor de Créteil Hospital).
The following questions will then be discussed, with cross-presentations by a modeller and specialists in the field concerned:
Pre-clinical vaccine development
Véronique Godot (Paris-Est Créteil University)
Roger Le Grand (CEA)
Mélanie Prague (INRIA Bordeaux)
Clinical vaccine development
Liem Binh Luong Nguyen (AP-HP, Paris Cité University)
Laura Richert (Bordeaux University)
Viral evolution and impacts on vaccines
Jean-Sébastien Casalegno (UCBL, Hospices Civils de Lyon)
Noémie Lefrancq (ETH Zürich)
Decision support for vaccine strategies
Paolo Bosetti (Institut Pasteur)
Andrea Lasserre (Haute Autorité de Santé)
David Smith (University of Oxford)
Efficacy assessment in populations
Lulla Opatowski (UVSQ, INSERM, Pasteur Institute)
Naïm Ouldali (AP-HP, Paris Cité University)
Mahmoud Zureik (EPI-PHARE, UVSQ, AP-HP)
Vaccine hesitancy and social issues around vaccines
Alessia Melegaro (Bocconi University)
Patrick Peretti-Watel (INSERM, Aix-Marseille University)
Registration is free but mandatory. The form can be accessed from the "Registration" tab in the left column, once logged in to your SciencesConf account (if you don't already have an account, you need to create one to be able to register).
Registration deadline:
for in person participation: March 10th, 2025 (evening)

Lunch will be organised on site for the participants attending in person. The connection link for remote participants will be sent by e-mail a few days before the meeting.
